Welcome to Magic Matcha. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website and the purchase of products from Magic Matcha Ltd.

By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully before making a purchase.

Governing law: These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If a dispute arises, you and Magic Matcha Ltd agree that the courts of England and Wales can deal with the claim. If you live in another part of the United Kingdom, you may also have the right to bring a claim in the courts of that part of the United Kingdom.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

2. Who can use our website

Age requirement

You must be at least 16 years old to use our website and make purchases.

Accuracy

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when placing an order or creating an account.

Account security

If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately at coryn@wearemagicmatcha.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Products

Product descriptions

We make every effort to ensure product descriptions, images, ingredients, and specifications are accurate. However:

  • Colours may vary slightly due to screen settings.
  • Product packaging may change.
  • We reserve the right to update product information without notice.

If a product is not as described, please contact us within 14 days of receipt.

Product availability

All orders are subject to stock availability. While we update stock levels regularly, products may sell out between when you place an order and when we process it.

If we cannot fulfil your order:

  • We will notify you by email as soon as possible.
  • We will offer an alternative product or full refund.
  • We will not charge you, or we will refund any payment taken.

We reserve the right to:

  • Limit quantities purchased per customer.
  • Refuse orders that appear to be for commercial resale.
  • Discontinue products at any time.

No pre-orders

We do not offer pre-orders. All products listed are available for immediate purchase, subject to stock availability.

4. Pricing and payment

Prices

All prices are in British Pounds (GBP) and include VAT where applicable.

Prices may change without notice. The price you pay is the price displayed at checkout when you place your order.

Pricing errors

If we discover a pricing error after you have placed an order:

  • Minor errors: We will honour the advertised price as a gesture of goodwill.
  • Obvious errors: We will contact you to confirm whether you want to proceed at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

Payment

We accept payment via:

  • Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • Shopify Payments
  • Other payment methods displayed at checkout

Payment is processed when you place your order. By providing payment information, you confirm you are authorised to use that payment method.

Payment security: We use Shopify Payments to process transactions securely. We do not store your full card details.

Discount codes

  • Discount codes must be entered at checkout.
  • Only one discount code per order unless otherwise stated.
  • Discount codes cannot be applied retrospectively.
  • We reserve the right to withdraw or amend discount codes at any time.
  • Discount codes may have expiry dates and restrictions.

5. Orders

Placing an order

When you place an order:

  • You submit an offer to purchase products.
  • You will receive an automated order confirmation email. This is not acceptance of your order.
  • We will send a shipping confirmation email when we dispatch your order. This constitutes acceptance.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, including for:

  • Stock unavailability
  • Pricing or product information errors
  • Suspected fraud or unauthorised transactions
  • Previous breaches of these Terms
  • Orders that appear to be for commercial resale

If we cancel your order after payment, we will issue a full refund.

Order cancellations by you

Before shipping: You can cancel your order before it ships by emailing coryn@wearemagicmatcha.com. If your order has already been dispatched, you will need to follow our returns process.

After shipping: Once dispatched, you cannot cancel, but you can return the product under our Returns Policy.

Order modifications

Once an order is placed, we cannot modify it, including changes to products or shipping address.

  • We will try to help if the order has not been dispatched.
  • If it has already shipped, you may need to return and reorder.

6. Shipping and delivery

Shipping area

We currently ship within the United Kingdom only. We do not accept orders from outside the UK.

Future international shipping: We may offer international shipping in the future. Any international orders will be subject to additional terms, customs duties, and import taxes which are the responsibility of the customer.

Delivery

  • Courier: We use Evri for deliveries.
  • Delivery times: Standard delivery is 3 - 5 working days from dispatch. Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed.
  • Tracking: You will receive tracking information via email when your order is dispatched.
  • Delivery address: Please ensure your delivery address is correct. We are not responsible for orders sent to incorrect addresses provided by you.

Failed delivery

If delivery fails due to:

  • an incorrect address provided by you
  • no one being available to receive the parcel
  • refusal to accept delivery

You may be charged for redelivery or need to collect from a local depot.

Lost or damaged parcels

We are responsible for your order until you receive it.

If your order is:

  • lost in transit
  • damaged during delivery
  • not received within the estimated timeframe

Contact us at coryn@wearemagicmatcha.com and we will:

  • investigate with the courier
  • send a replacement or issue a full refund
  • handle the claim process with Evri

You must report lost or damaged items within 7 days of expected delivery.

7. Returns and refunds

Your rights

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your products, for any reason.

Returns policy summary

  • Unopened products: Full refund within 14 days of receipt.
  • Opened products: Due to food hygiene regulations, we cannot accept returns of opened matcha sachets. Unopened sachets within a multi-pack can be returned.
  • Damaged or faulty products: Full refund or replacement, regardless of whether opened.
  • The Deck, The Whisk, The Scoop: Can be returned within 14 days if unused and in original condition.
  • Return shipping: You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the product is faulty or we sent the wrong item.

Refund process

Once we receive and inspect your return:

  • refunds are processed within 7 working days
  • refunds are issued to your original payment method
  • you will receive email confirmation when the refund is processed

8. Product safety and allergens

Food safety

Our matcha is:

  • sourced from reputable suppliers in Japan
  • packaged in food-grade containers
  • stored and handled according to UK food safety standards

Best before dates: Check packaging for best before dates. The best before date is in Japanese formatting: year/month/date.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. For optimal freshness, keep the sealed sachet in the fridge.

Allergens

Our matcha products contain:

  • 100% Okumidori Matcha Green Tea Powder
  • no added ingredients
  • naturally gluten-free
  • vegan

Our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. If you have health concerns or are sensitive to caffeine, please consult a healthcare professional before consuming matcha.

9. Intellectual property

Our content

All content on our website is owned by Magic Matcha Ltd or licensed to us, including:

  • text, images, graphics, and photographs
  • Magic Matcha logo and branding
  • product descriptions and designs
  • website design and layout

You may not:

  • copy, reproduce, or distribute our content without permission
  • use our trademarks, logos, or branding
  • scrape or extract data from our website
  • use our images for commercial purposes

You may:

  • share links to our website
  • share our social media posts using native share functions
  • take personal photos of products you have purchased for non-commercial use

Your content

If you submit content to us, including reviews, photos, or messages:

  • you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it
  • we may feature it on our website, social media, or marketing materials
  • you confirm you own the rights to any content you submit
  • you agree we can use your first name with submitted content

10. Reviews and user content

We encourage honest reviews and feedback. When submitting reviews or content, you agree to:

  • provide honest, accurate reviews based on your experience
  • not post offensive, defamatory, or inappropriate content
  • not include personal information about yourself or others
  • not post fake reviews or reviews for compensation, except legitimate product samples

We reserve the right to:

  • remove or edit reviews that violate these Terms
  • remove reviews containing profanity, spam, or irrelevant content
  • verify purchases before publishing reviews
  • not publish reviews at our discretion

11. Account suspension and termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and refuse service if:

  • you violate these Terms
  • you engage in fraudulent activity or payment fraud
  • you abuse our returns policy
  • you harass or abuse our staff
  • you attempt to resell products commercially without authorisation
  • you create fake accounts or reviews
  • you issue multiple chargebacks
  • you attempt to hack or compromise our website

If we suspend or terminate your account:

  • outstanding orders will be refunded or fulfilled at our discretion

  • courier delays beyond reasonable control
  • power failures or internet outages

Misuse of products

  • health issues resulting from overconsumption of caffeine
  • allergic reactions if you did not check ingredients or inform us of allergies
  • improper storage leading to product degradation
  • use of products after expiry date

Third-party websites

  • We are not responsible for content on third-party websites we link to.
  • Clicking external links is at your own risk.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law

13. Force majeure

We are not liable for failure to perform our obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:

  • natural disasters, extreme weather, floods, or fires
  • pandemic, epidemic, or public health emergency
  • war, terrorism, or civil unrest
  • government restrictions or laws
  • strikes or labour disputes
  • failure of suppliers, utilities, or transport networks
  • cyber attacks or system failures

If a force majeure event occurs:

  • we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible
  • our obligations are suspended for the duration
  • we may cancel affected orders and issue refunds
  • we will resume normal service as soon as possible
